The judges at the Great Taste Awards loved this cake so much they gave it a star. They agreed it's:
Also a Bronze medal winner at the FreeFrom Food Awards in 2017, it's no surprise that this is one of my most popular chocolate cakes! The judges there said:
This cake is my gluten-free version of a Julia Child classic from her book 'Mastering the Art of French Cooking': it's rich, dark and moist, made with my own blend of organic, gluten-free flours, organic butter, organic ground almonds, dark organic Belgian couverture (73% cocoa solids) and Appleton Kingston 62 Jamaica rum, with a dash of almond extract. Covered with smooth, dark ganache. All ingredients gluten-free. If you're allergic or intolerant to milk products, I can make this luscious cake dairy-free for you. And if you're avoiding alcohol, it tastes just as good made with organic coffee instead of rum. A Reine de Saba is meant to be slightly underdone, so it's lovely and squidgy in the middle: serve on a plate, with a fork. Fabulous with coffee, or with berries and cream for a scrumptious dessert. For a celebration, I can add a piped message in organic white or milk chocolate: please add £10.00 Price for a plain cake: Having a party?
